As with most babies, Quinn lost a little weight in his first few days. By his fifth day though, he was already above his birthweight, an impressive feat given that he was jaundiced. Throughout the month of May, Quinn went on a super-long super-fast growth spurt, gaining more than 2 ounces a day, compared to the normal 0.5 to 1 ounce per day. Starting in the latter half of his sixth week, he finally began to slow down and approach more average growth rates.
Quinn doubled his birth weight by around the end of his 10th week, when 4 months is average. At birth, Quinn's weight was in the 15th percentile. At his 2-month check-up, his weight was in the 85th percentile!
